We offer free, specialized dementia-friendly training to businesses, agencies, churches, and other organizations of all kinds. Each program is customized to fit the needs of your organization in order to ensure you and your team are equipped with the proper practices. We are the only organization in Walworth County qualified to teach dementia-friendly procedures and grant Purple Angel Awards.
Training organizations to practice dementia-friendly procedures is crucial in combating the rise of Alzheimer’s and Alzheimer’s related diseases. In Walworth County alone, the amount of Alzheimer’s patients is expected to double by 2040. This increase means more interaction with Alzheimer’s patients, some of which may be argumentative or confused. It is important for organizations to recognize and understand this behavior and offer a helping hand–rather than becoming frustrated–realizing these folks could be your parents or grandparents.
We provide introductory training to faith communities, businesses, and agencies. Training for middle and high schools will also be available in the near future. Advanced training is provided to first responders and healthcare providers.
Businesses
For businesses, we provide a 30-minute training session outlining dementia-friendly practices and support materials. Additionally, we have a Q and A segment after each session.**
