What Is Cycling Without Age?
Getting older should not mean giving up the things you enjoy–unfortunately, that is exactly what many seniors do. They stop partaking in activities because they no longer have the energy or strength to participate. However, with a helping hand (or two), seniors can still enjoy their hobbies. This is why Cycling Without Age was created.
Ole Kassow, from Denmark, originated the idea in 2012. He wanted to help seniors get back on their bikes, but needed a solution for their limited mobility–so he purchased a trishaw and started offering free rides to local nursing home residents. Eventually, he brought the idea to Dorthe Pedersen, a civil society consultant for Copenhagen.
Dorthe was intrigued by the idea, and together, they purchased five trishaws and officially launched Cycling Without Age. Since then, the movement has spread across Denmark and to 50 countries around the world.

If you have an organization, municipality, or faith community located in Walworth County and are interested in learning more about Cycling Without Age, or would like to participate, we will gladly work with you to schedule a meeting at a time and place that is convenient for you and your team.
We will share inspiring stories of Cycling Without Age, change-making, and social entrepreneurship. We will also teach you how to make a difference in your community.
Additionally, we can organize day trips with seniors in collaboration with school classes, excursions for delegations to hear and experience what cycling culture is all about, parades, and other community events.

Become A Sponsor
Cycling Without Age is a nonprofit and relies heavily on people’s generosity. Therefore, sponsorships are a great way to acquire funding for trishaws, longer rides, renting locations, and buying coffee, cakes, and lunches for volunteers and passengers.
Sponsorship tiers:
- Platinum- $10,000 USD**
- Gold- $5,000 USD**
- Silver- $2,500 USD**
- Bronze- $1,000 USD
- Supporter- Under $1,000 USD
- Donations in-kind

Trips are based on your availability, so whenever you have time, simply go online to schedule a trip. You and your passengers can also choose the destination.**
